Water

H2O Conserve – Quench your thirst for information on water scarcity, quality and conservation with the "Issues and Solutions" pages, which can be printed, emailed, downloaded and shared.  The site also has elementary school curriculum and conservation learning projects. You can even calculate your own water footprint.

Water Legacy explains how recycling used domestic bathing water to flush toilets can reduce domestic fresh water consumption by 30%.

The Intermountain West Climate Summary provides the latest climate information in a simple compact document aimed at water managers, planners and policy makers with water-related interests.

Colorado Waterwise offers tools, resources and events aimed at conserving water.

The Western Water Policy Program highlights innovations in water policy and law, including economic and administrative reforms, technological innovations and social change.

The Colorado River Water Conservation District offers information about protection, conservation, use and development of the water resources of the Colorado River basin.

CoCoRaHS (the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network) is a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map rain, hail, and snow precipitation. Their page for teachers, with lesson plans, is here.

Clean Energy

The Story of Stuff Project launched our brand new short film, The Story of Cap & Trade. It's a fast-paced, fact-filled look at the leading climate change solution on the table in Copenhagen and in the halls of Congress.

Repower America's "We" campaign seeks to switch America's electricity to energy sources with zero carbon emissions - within the next 10 years.

Green For All is a national organization dedicated to improving the lives of all Americans through a clean energy economy. The organization works in collaboration with the business, government, labor, and grassroots communities to create and implement programs that increase quality jobs and opportunities in green industry.

The Natural Resources Law Center (NRLC) and partners have developed a comprehensive, free-access, searchable, web-based database of best management practices (BMPs) for the Intermountain West. The intention of this project of compiling BMPs is to protect all of the surface resources affected by oil and gas development – air and water quality, soils, vegetation, visual aesthetics, tranquility, health and safety, wildlife and other resources.  The database now includes more than 4000 records of BMPs currently in use, required and/or recommended in Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
