Teachers Wanted for Learn More About Climate Advisory Board

CEPS-NCAR-019Teachers, please consider offering your vital input to Learn More About Climate as we work to strengthen and improve the website’s educational resources. We are establishing an advisory board comprised of Colorado teachers to aid in guiding the priorities for the Learn More About Climate initiative, sharing best practices with other educators, inspiring climate science resources for the classroom, and participating in an ongoing community of practice for Colorado and regional climate education.

As a Learn More About Climate advisor, you will be: invited to our high-country teacher retreat on Aug. 3-4*, acknowledged publicly on our website, offered paid continuing education credit, provided paid registration to the Colorado Science Conference in November, and offered two $100 stipends (one for the summer retreat and another at end of the school year).

As an advisor, you will be part of a group of approximately 10 teachers from across the state. Advisors will attend the summer retreat* and check in virtually throughout the school year to discuss successes and difficulties with teaching climate in the classroom, and to evaluate and discuss Learn More About Climate materials with other teachers. Furthermore, you will have opportunities to host CU-Boulder scientists in your classroom in-person or via Skype and to share teacher-informed resources with colleagues.
